Water meter verification

We are verificating various types of water meters (for household and industrial use) with 15m3/h – 600m3/h flow velocity, diameter range from ØDN15 to DN 300. In the course of the measurement, we examine the accuracy device of the measuring with a special software whether it is corresponding to the requirements of the certification margin of errors, prescribed in the law

The verification of water meters is an administrative measuremental activity, accompanied by a certification, that have to be accomplished on a verified measuring device under the supervision of MKEH. (Hungarian Authority for Measurement).

Drinking water

The water flow turns round the propeller gear-wheel that can be found in the majority of water meter gauges existing in drinking water sector. The number of the wheel- turns is commensurable to the volume flow of the water, so if we connect a counter to the rotating paddle through some transmission gears, than after calibration the volume flow can be measured.
The most commonly used house water meters are designed as wet running meters for cold water, with low pressure loss. The difference between dry running water meters and wet running ones is only the working method. It means that the counter does not come in contact with the flow media. Only the impeller operates in the wet chamber to prevent faults due to sediment and a magnetic coupling moves the mechanism.

Water meter Calibration - Wastewater

In the past 10 years, the measurement of sewage became even more important. The sewerage prices are increasing and that cause serious expenses to industrial enterprises. The quantity of the inflowed drinking water is the basis of payment at those firms, where the quantity of the drained wastewater is not measured.

If during manufacturing processes the drawn drinking water is going to be utilised as a product or big percentage of the amount evaporizes, than the actually drained quantities can be proved with the measurement of the emitted sewage.

This measurement is reasonable because as a result of the applied technology in the concerned industrial enterprises - less sewage gets in the public sewerage system as the consumed quantity of drinking water.
